About Me

Hello @internet,

I'm Thomas. Ever since I was a kid, I've been fascinated by computers and have worked with a wide range of systems running various operating systems—including many Linux distributions, Windows, FreeBSD, and OpenBSD. Later, I studied computer science and even had the opportunity to teach bachelor’s and master’s students in my own lectures. As someone passionate about technology, I’ve always appreciated the value of well-written technical blogs. They helped me a lot throughout my learning journey—and inspired me to start my own. On this blog, I share my experiences, insights, and thoughts on topics from the world of IT.

A bit about me: I'm a big fan of GNU/Linux distributions, with Debian being my go-to choice. It was Debian Squeeze that first piqued my interest in the world of Open Source Software, and I've been hooked ever since. I believe my passion for Open Source is one of the driving forces behind starting this blog.

In addition to Linux systems, I'm also interested in IT security. This led me to join "Squareroots", a professional CTF team, in 2020, where I've had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge in this area.

Due to the interests I told you above, I planned to write about the following topics:

  • Setup of different services on top of Linux (Servers/Desktops)
  • Hardening of Linux systems
  • Server orchestration using Ansible or Salt
  • IT Security in general

and other topics that I spontaneously feel like.
